Henkel Consumer Brands carried out its first voluntary action for the reforestation of the Agia Triada area in Agios Stefanos, on 10 March 2024. The action was realised in the context of the company’s initiative for a reforestation project including the planting of more than 5,000 trees in Penteli, while ensuring their care and survival for the next 3 years. Sympraxis has undertaken the planning, organisation and implementation of the voluntary action, as well as the entire reforestation project. Henkel Consumer Brands employees, along with their families and Sympraxis, volunteered to plant the first 250 trees in the area. With enthusiasm and broad smiles, they played their part in giving a breath of green again to a vital lung of Attica that was seriously affected by repeated devastating fires. The location was chosen based on the criterion that there is no possibility of natural regeneration. The trees planted enhance the area’s biodiversity and prevent rapid spread in case of fire. The goal of the 70 participating volunteers was to encourage active action and to highlight the need for the protection and regeneration of the natural environment. The important initiative was graced with the presence of Ms. Vicky Cavallari, Deputy Regional Governor of East Attica, and Ms. Katerina Maichosoglou, Mayor of Dionyssos, Agios Stefanos. Ms. Carolina Markiewicz – Kuskowska, General Manager Greece & Cyprus, Henkel Consumer Brands, and Ms. Stratigoula Vamvali, Marketing Director Greece Cyprus, Henkel Consumer Brands, are committed to the methodical continuation of the voluntary actions with the help of experienced scientific guidance, constant monitoring and the continuous care of the reforested areas, aiming to regenerate a natural site through the reforestation project. The success of the action will be judged not only by the number of the planted trees, but also by their survival rate.
