In the face of the dramatic impacts of the climate crisis, demographic decline, and rapid technological disruption, the 4th Effective Dialogue Conference returns on September 24, 2026, at the Stelios Foundation Conference Hall in Athens. Centered around the core question “Disruption or Destruction?”, this year’s event seeks to find the delicate balance between creative disruption and systemic collapse, advocating for a sustainable restart as the only meaningful way forward.

More than 40 distinguished speakers will participate in the conference. Among them are NASA space scientist Stamatios Krimigis and cleric-author Father Livyos as keynote speakers, along with ambassadors of foreign states, academics, government representatives, institutional bodies, and executives from major corporations. Additionally, the new research by diaNEOsis on Artificial Intelligence will be presented.

The panel discussions will cover pressing issues of current affairs:

  • Greenwashing & Corporate Reputation: Ensuring the credibility of ESG narratives.
  • Sustainable Transition for SMEs: Moving from compliance to resilient entrepreneurship.
  • ESG & Banking: Shaping financing strategies.
  • Demographics & Sustainability: The impact of declining birth rates on pensions, housing, and the labor market.
  • Energy Future & Development: The limits of the traditional growth model and the dilemmas surrounding nuclear energy.

The conference is co-organized by Sympraxis, the Hellenic Institute for Effective Dialogue, and the Stelios Philanthropic Foundation, with the Department of International and European Studies, University of Piraeus as the academic partner.
