The National Wildlife Observer Network is an initiative of ANIMA, the Association for the Protection and Welfare of Wildlife, operating an electronic platform for the connection and recording of information provided by citizens, concerning cases of dead or injured wild animals in Greece.  The paratiro.gr network electronic platform has received more than 400 observations of dead (80%) or injured (20%) animals by 250 individual users. The programme has achieved two very important goals:  the initial recording of the existing situation in Greece and the involvement of the people in the scientific research, by promoting “citizen science”.  Sympraxis Team has designed and submitted the proposal on account of ANIMA, developed the electronic platform and methodology for the utilisation of smartphones in that context and produced the project’s communication material. The project is funded by the programme of the EEA Financial Mechanism for Greece “We are all Citizens”; the programme’s Grant Administrator is the Bodossakis Foundation. www.paratiro.gr
