With the motto “Heraklion: steady steps towards a sustainable city”, the city of Heraklion, Crete, participated in the European Sustainable Energy Week by realising a variety of awareness-rising and information-providing activities in the open-air area of ​​the Town Hall (Loggia) from 4 to 8 June. The activities included: environmental theatrical game for classes of Primary Schools of Heraklion, ecological footprint measurement, real-time projection of carbon dioxide emissions through an online platform, recycled art exhibition, projection of selected films with an environmental message, collection of used lamps and exchange with LED, distribution of t-shirts, hats and multipurpose handbags, presentation of the Cretan Energy Cluster, electric vehicle exhibition, cycling race, as well as the performance of the Brazilian percussion band Batala Creta!  Hundreds of citizens of Heraklion, children and adults, enthusiastically participated in the events! Sympraxis Team has undertaken the organisation, coordination and publicity of the Sustainable Energy Week, on behalf of the Municipality of Heraklion.
