Henkel Hellas and its partners are taking action to protect the precious urban lungs that are at risk of serious degradation due to the waste left behind by our fellow citizens. On May 7, 2023, Henkel and its collaborators Dixan and My Market carried out a volunteering cleanup action in Alsos Dafniou. The action was very successful, since 168 participating volunteers collected more than 530 kg of waste, thus revitalising the area’s flora and fauna. Furthermore, on July 7, 2023, more than 100 volunteers participated in the cleanup of the beach of Agios Nikolaos in Anavyssos. The high temperatures did not dampen the volunteering spirit of Henkel and Dixan employees, who cleared the wider beach area of bulky waste in order to protect the area’s wetland. The result of this cleanup amounts to more than 800 kg of waste and plastic. The new cycle of the successful programμε aims at the removal of waste from urban groves, beaches, parks and forests, which are literally the vital lung of every city’s ecosystem. The programme’s strategic priority remains the promotion of the supreme value of volunteering and the cultivation of individual responsibility and environmental awareness. Sympraxis supported the implementation of the new actions of the “Clean Thoroughly – Clean at the Source” programme on behalf of Henkel Hellas.
