The 6th year of DIXAN’s environmental programme “Clean Thoroughly, Clean at the Source” started with three actions of great importance.

The current cycle of the programme started with the 55th voluntary cleanup action in Alsos Dafniou, in Haidari, on 6 April 2025, in the context of highlighting the importance of urban parks and the need to preserve them. The specific location is damaged every day by the reckless behavior of drivers passing by Athinon Avenue, as well as by visitors to the Grove. The 98 volunteers who participated in the action, both from HENKEL HELLAS itself and from Civil Society organisations –the 1st Scout System of Haidari, the Local Improvement, Cultural and Environmental Society of Dafni titled “Daphneos Apollo”, and the volunteer group of the Agricultural University of Athens– managed to remove 6,200 kg of waste from the Grove and its creek.

This action was followed by the 56th programme action, on 24 May 2025, in which DIXAN, taking into account the increasingly severe and destructive effects of climate change, and especially with regard to the tragic increase in fires in Greece, chose to turn to actions supporting fire prevention through voluntary cleanup actions, specifically in the Seih Sou Forest in Thessaloniki. The action was carried out in collaboration with Masoutis supermarkets as well as with the participation of volunteers from HENKEL HELLAS and from the “Echedorou Fysis” organisation. More than 40 volunteers cleaned the site and removed 800 kg of waste, while celebrating World Biodiversity Day (22May), as preventing a fire also preserves the area’s biodiversity.

The 57th programme action took place in Parnitha on Friday 20June 2025, focusing on the supportive actions of fire prevention and the removal of combustible materials. More than 60 volunteers from HENKEL HELLAS, the Parnitha Voluntary Action (EDPA), the Hellenic Cancer Society of Acharnon & Phyli and the Panorama in Action were at the scene, removing 21,000 liters of waste, mainly plastic containers with frying oil, an extremely dangerous material for a fire outbreak.
