For the second consecutive year, Henkel Consumer Brands proceeded with the implementation of a reforestation project of burnt areas at Penteli, in places where natural regeneration is not possible, and planted 2,000 trees in the area of the Grove of the Paphlagonians. True to its commitments, the company continues its work, ensuring the strengthening of the area’s ecosystems and biodiversity. The reforestation was elaborated, planned and carried out by Sympraxis, with an experienced scientific team and a professional planting crew. Henkel Consumer Brands’ work does not stop at planting saplings, but extends to ensuring their maximum survival rate, taking care of them for 3 years and replacing any saplings that may not survive. As part of the project, a voluntary reforestation action was carried out on 31 October, in which volunteering employees of Henkel Hellas participated, strengthening the culture of volunteerism and cultivating in the volunteers’ consciousness the value of protecting and restoring forests. Henkel’s intervention in the areas of Penteli is an initiative of catalytic importance for the regeneration of the region’s forest tissue. Penteli is affected every year by devastating fires, and the survival and strengthening of this green lung is a goal of utmost importance for ensuring the quality of life and health of the residents of the entire Attica basin. The reforestations are implemented in collaboration with the General Directorate of Forests of the Ministry of Environment and Energy, the Penteli Forestry Office and the competent authorities of the Region and the Municipality.
