Three information and consultation days were carried out by Sympraxis as part of the “Elaboration of Special Environmental Studies (SES), Drafting of Presidential Protection Decrees and Management Plans for the Areas of the Natura 2000 Network” project of the Ministry of Environment and Energy.

More specifically, on Wednesday 12 June 2024, on Naxos, Sympraxis provided full technical coordination, technical coverage and equipment for the SES consultation day for the “Group 8b of Natura 2000 Network Areas of the Regional Units of Kalymnos, Thira, Naxos, Paros, Karpathos- the Heroic Island of Kasos, Milos and Attica Islands”, for “YLI- ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT AND PROTECTION”, the project’s contractor company.

In continuation of the excellent cooperation with “YLI- ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT AND PROTECTION “, the SES consultation day for the “Group 8c of Natura 2000 Network Areas of the Regional Units of Kalymnos (Municipalities of Kalymnos, Patmos, Leros, Lipson, Agathonissos), Karpathos (Municipalities of Karpathos, the Heroic Island of Kasos), Kos (Municipalities of Kos, Nisyros), Rhodes (Municipalities of Rhodes, Megisti, Tilos, Symi, Chalki)” was held on Tuesday 8 October 2024 on Rhodes. Sympraxis provided full technical coverage and equipment in this case as well, ensuring the perfect implementation of the consultation day.

On Monday 16 December 2024, Sympraxis organised and carried out the information and consultation day for the Special Environmental Study on “SES 7B: Natura 2000 Areas of the Attica Region and the North Aegean Region”, for ENVIROPLAN SA, the contractor company of the study. The event took place on Mytilini and was broadcast live on YouTube and Facebook with over 650 views of remote participants, while over 60 stakeholders participated in person. The Secretary General of Forests, Mr. Efstathios Stathopoulos, and the Secretary General of Spatial Planning and Urban Environment, Mr. Efthimios Bakoyannis,  gave a short greeting speech as well as a succinct briefing on the project.

At the conclusion of the presentations by the study’s elaborators, oral questions and statements were placed, both live and remotely, while comments and questions were recorded through the chat of the live broadcast channels.

The project is part of the wider planning of the Ministry of Environment and Energy to create a National System of Protected Areas.
