Projects & Events Coordinator
Georgia graduated from the Panteio University of Social and Political Sciences in Athens with a degree in International and European Studies, and went on studying International Relations in the University of Paris I Pantheon Sorbonne at a postgraduate level, focusing on the EU’s Neighbourhood Policy in the Black Sea and Caucasus Region. That brought her to a traineeship in the European Parliament in Brussels, and from then on to the world of public affairs and communications in the EU’s capital (Burson-Marsteller).
She then came back home to Athens working as a Communications consultant (Advocate) for both corporate clients as well as trade associations, political parties, European Commission campaigns implemented in Greece etc.
A break from the consultancy world led her to in-house work for international organizations, NGOs, social cooperative enterprises, and tourism businesses (Aldemar Resorts). Though having crossed a diversified working environment path, her focus has always been on sustainability, corporate social responsibility, social contribution, social solidarity economy, awareness raising, community engagement etc.
She seemed to understand the nexus of environmental protection, culture heritage, social contribution, and socioeconomic sustainability since ever, and her life path always brought her to approach this field – though from different perspectives. Either working for the management of water resources (Global Water Partnership) to the access of vulnerable social groups to healthcare and decent living conditions (Medecins Sans Frontieres), or from supporting remote communities in leveraging the benefits of hiking tourism (Paths of Greece) to advancing the role of trails in climate change mitigation (World Trails Network), Georgia has always found inspiration in sustainable social and human development.
An experienced professional with 13 years of working history in communications & project management roles in competitive cross-cultural environments, Georgia is skilled in Corporate Affairs & Responsibility, Crisis Communications, Policy Monitoring, Analysis & Reporting, Public Affairs, Promoting of Non-profit initiatives, Stakeholder Management.
She is a life-long learning advocate, continuous training herself on technical, digital and management skills, public diplomacy, heritage management, fundraising and public-private partnerships etc. that can advance her personal and professional development and help her offer a more holistic support to clients and employer organizations.
She joins Sympraxis Team with the certainty that she shares the same values, passion for a sustainable and more just world, as well as a dedication to make her motto true: making synergies happen.
