Project Manager

Alexandra has 15 years of experience in project management, production, publishing, marketing and communication. She began her career as Project Manager in 1997, working in a large translation company, and continued as a freelance translator / editor / copywriter in various companies in Greece and abroad.

She holds a BA (Hons) degree in the Italian Language and Literature, since her love for this language led her in 2004 to the relative Department of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, where she graduated in 2008 after receiving a 4 years scholarship from the Manolis Triantafyllidis Foundation. Since 2000, Alexandra has been already working as a teacher, after getting her Diploma Superior of Italian Language and Culture from the Italian Institute of Athens. Nowadays, her teaching experience counts a total of 15 years and includes thousands of hours of teaching to adults, Foreign Language Private Schools, and Centres for Lifelong Learning.
From 2008 to 2010, she focused on the commerce area and worked in the Italian Chamber of Athens as a Communication and Advertising Consultant. Then she returned as a Senior Project Manager in her familiar translation area and coordinated translations for more than 1,000 journals (about 6 million words!) published by DeAgostini Hellas in Greece, Cyprus and the Balkans, while translating and writing the content of about 90 magazines.
In 2011, she began volunteering for the annual “Greece Race for the Cure”, organised by the Panhellenic Association of women with breast cancer “Alma Zois”; Make-A-Wish Greece, by visiting children suffering from life-threatening medical conditions; Be Strong Organization; Surfers4Life.

The road of social contribution led her one day to the Sympraxis Team. Since 2013, she has been working in the company as Project Manager in the field of design and implementation of social contribution projects, fundraising, and the organisation of events; she also contributes in the writing/editing of texts (newsletters, press releases, fundraising proposals etc.). Her collaborations include projects funded from Institutions in Greece and abroad (the Open Society Foundations, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, the Bodossaki Foundation, the J. F. Costopoulos Foundation) Public Sector Clients (Organisation Against Drugs, Municipality of Aigialeia and Piraeus, Special Agency for Coordination of Environmental Projects, Ministry of Environment, National Observatory etc.), Corporate Clients (OTE Group, CC3E) and NGO Clients such as ANIMA (coordination of the creation of the electronic platform, ALKYONI, Callisto, The J. & A. Ν. Diomedes Botanic Garden, The Children Support Center of Elefsis (Annual Program “Open your eyes and see the rainbow we all comprise together” against racist violence in the Thriasian Plain), SOS Children’s Villages Greece, etc. In September 2016, she collaborated professionally with “Alma Zois”, assuming the coordination of the 565 Volunteers of the 8th Greece Race for the Cure. She admires Leonardo da Vinci as the epitome of the “Homo Universalis” ideal in the history of mankind.
